Join us to learn about the life and jewelry of several of the iconic First Ladies beginning with Martha Washington and ending with our current First Lady Michelle Obama. We can learn a great deal from the items they adorned themselves with, by noting which objects they held dear and how they fit into their time, both in their fashion sense and their political astuteness. Their jewelry also gives us clues to their personalities and how others viewed them. Even the lack of owning much jewelry tells us something about a First Lady.

While working for many major museums, including the National Gallery of Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, private and corporate collectors as well as art and antique dealers, The Fine Arts Conservancy has amassed a fascinating resume. Join Gordon Lewis as he discusses some of the great projects his team has worked on including the restoration of 17th century Dutch painting damaged by canon fire during the American Civil War.
